Interview with Wa Lae
We're back again! This time we got to chat with Lagos rapper Wa Lae. The versatile artiste had quite some things to say in our exclusive interview with him. He also has new music coming up so watch out for that. You can follow him on IG @walae_ng
whats your name?
Olawale Rilwan Olawoore.
Tell us how your stage name came about?
Well my stage name was actually given to me by a close friend of mine..during that time I needed a stage name.
What genre of music are you into?
I am into trap, drill music, alternative rock, hip hop and RnB.
What made you go into music or what inspired you to make music?
Well I have been a great fan of music and everything that comes with it and in the middle of 2015 I decided to start up my career which began with little freestyles.
Are you in any squad or team?
Yeah..am in a recently formed team named "Regeneration".
Are you working on anything right now, like an EP or something like that?
Yes, am working on a song right now, well.."Regeneration" is working on a song named "Fronting", which is to be released late september,
What are your plans for the future?
I want to go deeper into music in the future, its my occupational option.
Who are your musical icons?
Well i have a lot of role models when it comes to music varying from Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Kid Cudi, Travis Scott and Ycee.
Share the experience of performing live?
When performing, I feel the vibe flowing through me, I feel the energy of the spectators in me, that feeling is to kill for.

Well I would like to work with Lectrik as an upcoming artiste, Ycee as a nigerian artiste and Lil Durk as a foreign artiste.
What has been your biggest challenge as an artiste?
My biggest challenge is still the "criticism", it's something I feel all musician go through and have to overcome if not it would lead to their downfall.
Have you anything to say to other upcoming artistes?
Well to other upcoming artistes I just have to say that they shouldn't look down on anybody and shouldn't criticize anybodys music. We musicians are meant to work together and create music, this beef shit isn't meant to be.
